Set up OpenConnect VPN on Arch Linux
Note: To set up the Cisco AnyConnect compatible VPN OpenConnect, you need to make sure that your VPN service provider offers the "OpenConnect" or "Ocserv" VPN protocol. FastestVPN is one such VPN service.
1: Install Cisco AnyConnect compatible VPN OpenConnect plugin for Arch Linux. For this, open terminal and then enter these commands:
- Enter: su root
- Enter: pacman -S openconnect networkmanager-openconnect
2: After that, open your network settings and click on the "+" sign next to the VPN.
3: Select "OpenConnect" and click "Create".
4: Enter any name for your VPN connection such as "Openconnect VPN" or whatever you like. Then in the "Gateway" field, enter the VPN server address as provided by your VPN service provider. Click on "Save".
5: Now your Ocserv VPN profile on Arch has been created. Right-click on its name and click "Connect"
6: If it shows a certificate confirmation message, then click "OK".
7: Now click on the icon next to the VPN host field. Then enter your VPN username in the respective field as provided by your VPN service provider. Then click "Login".
8: Then enter your VPN password, and click "Login".
9: Wait for a few seconds and then your Cisco AnyConnect compatible VPN OpenConnect on Arch Linux will be connected. Later, you can connect and disconnect the VPN on Arch from your network menu.
