Set up Cisco AnyConnect Compatible VPN on Windows 11

This tutorial explains how to set up a Windows VPN using the Cisco AnyConnect Compatible OpenConnect or SSL VPN on Windows 11. Follow step-by-step to set up Cisco Anyconnect Windows 11 VPN.

Please note that the setup of Cisco AnyConnect Compatible OpenConnect or SSL VPN is the same on Windows 11 as well as Windows 10, Windows 8 and Windows 7.

We used the FastestVPN for this tutorial. While you can use any VPN service which supports the OpenConnect / SSL VPN protocol.

Step 1: Download the Cisco AnyConnect Compatible OpenConnect App from here.

Step 2: Run the setup file and click "Next".

Step 3: Click "I Agree".

Step 4: Click "Next" in the next three steps without changing any settings.

Step 5: Click "Install".

Step 6: Wait for the installation to get complete.

Step 7: Click "Finish".

Step 8: Now run the OpenConnect App and then click "New Profile".


Step 9: First, check mark "Customize". Then in the "Name" field, enter any name for your VPN connection. After that, enter a VPN server address/ IP address as provided by your VPN service provider.

Step 10: Click "Accurate information" if this notification appears.

Step 11: Enter your VPN username as provided by your VPN service provider and click "OK". Then enter the VPN password and click "OK".

Step 12: Once this lock icon becomes green, that means your VPN is connected successfully.

Later you can use the OpenConnect icon in the system tray to connect and disconnect the Cisco AnyConnect Compatible VPN on Windows 11.
