This tutorial explains how to set up OpenVPN on Kali Linux. Follow step-by-step to set up the Linux Kali VPN using the OpenVPN protocol through the network manager.
- We used the FastestVPN for this tutorial. While you can use any VPN service which offers the OpenVPN protocol.
1: Download the OpenVPN configuration files (ovpn files) which will be provided by your VPN service provider. Unzip those files if required.
2: Click on Kali Linux network icon, go to "VPN Connections" and select "Add a VPN Connection".
3: Select "Import a saved VPN configuration" and click "Create"
4: Now navigate to the folder where you saved the configuration (.ovpn) files in Step 1. Select your desired VPN server file and click "Open"
5: Enter the username and then password provided by your VPN service provider and click "Save"
Step 6: Click on your network icon, and click on the VPN profile you just created
7: Wait for the VPN on Kali Linux to get connected. Later, you can use the network menu to connect and disconnect VPN on Kali Linux
